Janice Protopapas Ph.D, is a Canadian American ethnomusicologist, educator and scholar of South Asian and Sikh sacred music studies. She is also a recording artist, musician and composer. Her passion for the “Sanskriti” of India (classical culture) has taken her on a thirty-year love relationship of study and research of the classical music and languages of India. From the peaks of the Himalayas, to the banks of the Ganges river in Varanasi and the Golden Temple in Amritsar, Jan presents this journey as a musical tapestry of Indian classical culture. She weaves together the academic, emotive, and sensual elements of her research and aims to share her passion with both the scholarly world and the .... world.
